It is made from Gelatin and Sand, earth-friendly materials. It biodegrades naturally in about 24 hours in the sea or a lake, and over about 3 months if buried in the ground. It is engineered to float for few minutes before descending gracefully. It symbolizes the respect we must have for our enviornment and allows the cremains of the deceased to become a part of nature.

Laguna Adult Biodegradble Rose Urn

The Laguna Biodegradable Rose Urn is for the dignified committal of cremated remains to the water. The use of the Laguna Urn will prevent unpleasant cremated ash "blow-back" and will provide a more dignified committal. Under most circumstances the urn will float for approximately five (5) minutes before slowly sinking. If the remains are dense the Laguna Urn may sink immediately. In either case it will totally disintegrate within twenty (20) minutes. Is it safe for any body of water? It may be used in salt or fresh water. The Laguna Urn is water-soluble, non-polluting, and non-toxic. It may also be used for green burial.

Journey Envelope

The Journey Earthurn is perfect for ocean or deep water burial. These biodegradable urns are engineered to float momentarily and then gracefully sink. Once on the ocean floor, the urn will break down naturally over time.

Each Journey Earth urn includes a water-soluble plastic bag which dissolves on contact with water, allowing the cremated remains to be dispersed within minutes.

Journey Earth urns are handmade using a centuries old paper making technique. The bark from the mulberry tree is harvested, leaving the tree alive and intact. After the bark is soaked, the resulting pulp is laid out on bamboo screens, often with floral material inlaid, and dried in the sun. Once dry the paper is used to create our beautiful and earth-friendly urns, which will break down in water or soil.
