Luis Angel Mendez

Luis Angel Mendez passed away on February 19th 2018 at the age of 59.

Luis will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 30 years, Yolanda, and his children Luis, Angel, and Giana. He will also be sorely missed by his siblings, as well as his many nieces, nephews, god-children and grandchildren whom he loved in equal measure.

Affectionately known as Chu-Cho or Gelo, he was the type of man that ensured his wife walked safely to her car every morning, and gratefully ate everything she cooked whether he thought it was good or not.

The type of man who would sleepily check the house to ensure his daughter was still safely in bed every night, and would go back and forth endlessly to win an 'I love you more' debate.

The kind of man who came home from work, drenched in sweat and tired, but still managed a massive smile when he saw his family.

A father to more than just his children, he had enough love in his heart to treat everyone as though they were the dearest person in his life.

He loved hard and looked at his family and friends as though they were the sun in his life, though he himself was the point our family revolved around.

In lieu of a service, Luis would only ask that his family and loved ones take care of each other in his absence. Hug tighter. Take more pictures. Call more often. Hold hands.  Say I love you as often as possible.
