Rodney “Rod” A. Lee, Plantation Florida, passed away at his home on June 10, 2019. He was born July 26, 1966 in Ashland, Ashland County, Ohio, to William Harvey Lee and Susan Ann Dunlap Lee formerly of Ashland. He was a 1984 graduate of Ashland High School. He attended Ohio State University and finished his degree in Sound, Stage and Lighting at the Art Institute in Atlanta, Georgia. After graduation, he worked in his chosen field in Atlanta, Georgia, for Lighting Technologies and later Atlanta Rigging Systems. After that, he returned to his love of cooking working briefly as the sous chef at Berkeley Hills Country Club in Duluth, Georgia. After moving to Plantation, Florida, in 2006, he worked for Bonaventure Country Club and Uncle Al’s in Weston, Florida.
He is survived by his beloved son Casey Alexander Lee and his former wife Amy Humes Lee of Plantation Florida; his mother Susan of Chapin, South Carolina; his sister Beckie (Chris) Petty and nephew Will Petty of Lexington, South Carolina; and his uncle Robert “Bob” Dunlap of Statesville, North Carolina. He was preceded in death by his father in 2016.
His remains will be cremated and returned to South Carolina to be with his father. Memorial services for family and friends will be held in Plantation, Florida, and Chapin, South Carolina, at later dates. Brooks Cremation and Funeral Services in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, are handling the arrangements for the family.
