Carolyn Brosseau Seeds, a long-time resident of Lake Emerald, died Thursday the 7th of September at Holy Cross Hospital.

Born in 1933 in Hammond, IN, Carolyn was an interior decorator and business partner/owner of James R. Brosseau Furniture in her early years in Calumet City, IL. After selling the business and moving to Fort Lauderdale in 1972, she made a career shift and worked at Margate Hospital as supervisor in the business office for 6 years. In 1978, Carolyn became the Manager of Out-Patient Billing at Broward General Hospital where she worked for 20 years until she retired. In her retirement, she worked as a bookkeeper and office manager for Greensward of Florida until she fell ill in May of this year.

She loved family, food, and life. She kept an active lifestyle starting each day on the treadmill, traveling, and riding roller coasters at Disney World.

Carolyn was beautiful inside and out, and had the most infectious laugh. She had a passion for cooking and entertaining for family and friends, and loved decorating, classic movies, shopping, and going out for dinner and cocktails with her best friend, Jane. Her children and grandchildren, whom she adored, were always the center of her life.

She is survived by her children Thomas Brosseau and Robert Brosseau, both of south Florida, and Karen Brosseau Slaby of Massachusetts; 9 grandchildren, Christine, Christopher, Tiffany, John Paul, Michael, Jeremiah, Luke, Tiernan, and Lilliana; and, two great granddaughters, Skylar and Harper. Carolyn was predeceased by sons Daniel and James, her first husband, James R. Brosseau, and her husband of 23 years, Charles W. Seeds.

A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, September 23rd at 10:00AM at Blessed Sacrament Roman Catholic Church, 1701 East Oakland Park Blvd., Oakland Park, FL followed by a luncheon. All are welcome to attend.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name (Carolyn Brosseau Seeds) to either her church, Blessed Sacrament Roman Catholic Church, Oakland Park, FL, or the American Heart Association,
