Aaron M Rush of Chicago passed away April 7, 2016 at the age of 30. (dob 06/14/85). Aaron was known to friends and professionally as Rush and in social media as Rush Tattooist. Aaron was an artist from an early age and all his adult life he devoted himself to his career as a tattoo artist. Aaron was the co-owner of AntiMatter Studios in Chicago. Aaron’s legacy lives through his art which touched many people, some permanently and in the hearts of those who admired, respected and loved him.
Aaron’s life was tragically taken by addiction. Aaron was four months into recovery, committed to getting well and building a new life. He was happy and optimistic about the future. He was looking forward to reuniting with his beloved schnoodle, Dahlia, as he affectionately called her “The Dahli Monster”, who meant the world to him. With a new job he loved, he was re-establishing himself professionally as a tattoo artist in Pompano Beach, FL. To the great sadness and frustration of those who loved him, the power of love and support can pale in comparison to that of addiction and he ultimately fell vulnerable to it.
Aaron was a 2003 graduate of Maine South High School, Park Ridge IL and attended Saint Robert Bellarmine Elementary School, Chicago, IL.
Aaron is survived by his mother Carrie (Briska) Rush; father Henry P Rush III; brother Henry P Rush IV; good friend and mentor Thomas Macauda; Gramma Daneise (Briska) Sprague; Uncle William Briska and Francine Cella; Aunt Luann Briska and William Lalagos; Aunt Carolyn (Briska) Jarosz; Step-Gramma Pat (Rogers) Briska and several cousins. Aaron was preceded in death by Grandfathers Robert W Briska and Kenneth Sprague.
