Barbara (Barbi) Hodgin Lawless went home to be with her Lord on January 13th, 2016 with her husband John by her side. Barbi lived a good and active life, she was a fighter and lived with many significant illnesses over a long period of years, and did so with a joyful and loving spirit.
Barbi was predeceased by her mother Laura and her father Doug. She was born in Alameda, CA and grew up in Indiana and Ohio with her brothers Tim and James and her sister Becky. She moved to Florida in 1977 and continued her career in restaurant and lounge management and later moved to the "back of the house" doing bookkeeping and later as comptroller. Barbi is survived by her husband John, her sons Donnie (Michelle) and Sam, and daughter Lisa. She adored her 6 grandchildren - Dalton, Kane, Morgan, Zakkary, Masen, and Nikkolas.
Barbi loved life, loved the Lord, and loved her family and Church family. Before becoming ill she was active in the FOPA and enjoyed working on the Toys for Tots campaigns and also food for those in need especially around the holidays. She loved riding motorcycle with John and going to concerts. She had a zest for life that her illness could not steal. Even in the last season of her life she always had a smile and an encouraging word for anyone who she spoke to.
A Memorial Service to celebrate her life will be held at 2PM Saturday February 6, 2016 at First Christian Church of Margate, 1107 NW 66 Avenue Margate, FL 33063
