Carlos Pimentel Obituary

Carlos Pimentel, born in Lima, Peru, was a loving father, brother, and grandfather. After battling lung cancer for four months, he peacefully passed away in his long-time home in Weston, Florida with his children at his bedside.

In his early years, Carlos was one of Vegas’ finest Blackjack dealers. The casino business took him from Vegas to New Orleans and even to Puerto Rico while he continued in the business for over 30 years. In the late 90s,

Carlos settled in Weston, Florida with his youngest son and took up coaching and refereeing youth soccer all over Broward County. He continued to coach and ref youth soccer throughout the remainder of his life while simultaneously becoming a world traveler. An avid historian and world news enthusiast, Carlos had made his way all over the United States, Caribbean, and South America. Prior to being diagnosed with small cell lung cancer in October of 2017, he took “the trip of his life” and backpacked through all of Eastern Europe for 3 months visiting famous sites like the remaining piece of the Berlin wall, the ancient Greek ruins in Istanbul, and Auschwitz concentration camp.

Carlos had a sincere appreciation for the world and people around him and will be laid to rest on March 19, 2018 at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Davie, Florida. He is succeeded by his eldest brother, Hector Pimentel, his two daughters, Jackie and Jessica, and his two sons, Ivan and Carlos (CJ).
