Daniel Patrick Linden

Daniel Patrick Linden aka Big Foot, of Miami Shores, FL, aged 67, passed away on Friday, June 7, 2019 due to complications from a rapidly progressing lung disease. Private Services will be held at 4pm on Friday, June 21, 2019 at Miami Shores Country Club.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Charlotte Linden Bean; Mother, Mary Lou Artelle Linden Amos; Fathers, James Amos and Weldon Charles Linden Sr; Brother Weldon Linden Jr, wife Petra; and niece Rhonda Davis.

He is survived by his wife Gloria Bell Linden; Son Daniel Linden, wife Stacie; Daughter Christine Linden Moore, husband Christopher; granddaughter Brianna Linden Torres, husband Christopher; and grandson Brandon Linden.

He is also survived by his brother Patrick Linden, niece Darling, boyfriend James, great nieces/nephew Avianna, James and Jamie; nephew Richie Bean, wife Kathy, great nephew/niece Tyler and Destinie; nephew Weldon Linden III, wife Lisa Marie, great niece Cameron; and nephew Chad Linden, girlfriend Myrna Nemecek; great nephew Jason Davis, wife and children.

He is also survived by his sister in law Linda Bell; nieces/nephews Candida, Michael, wife Karla, Crystal and Sean; great nieces/nephews Devin, Sasha, Liam, Makenzie and Nicolai, great-great nephew Noah; niece Karla Ramsey, husband Matt and children.

Daniel was born August 19, 1951 in New Orleans, Louisiana and moved to Miami at age 7. His "Coonass" accent was so thick his teacher couldn't understand him, and made him repeat the 2nd grade, which he passed with flying colors thanks to the help of a translator. He graduated Miami Edison High School in 1970 with a football scholarship to Clemson University which he declined and chose instead to raise a family with his Junior High School sweetheart, soulmate and wife of 49 years.

He was drafted in May of 1971 to the Army to fight in the Vietnam war and lucky enough to never be sent overseas, hence the name "Lucky Linden". Which played well for him over the years, even allowing him to win the Fantasy 5.

Daniel was a terrific husband, father and friend. He always had a story or joke to ease the mood and if you ever had a problem Daniel would have the answer, you just needed to listen long enough and you would catch his drift. 

Daniel worked 30 years in the telecommunications field and met many brothers along his career path. 

His hobbies were fishing and golf, but he played beach volleyball every week until several years ago when he and his brothers/buddies decided horseshoes was easier.

Daniel's smile and warmth lit up the room and left a lasting impact on so many people. His most honorable quality instilled by his mother, "treat everyone the way you would want to be treated" and that is how he lived his life. 

Daniel will be missed by many, but his memory and stories will last lifetimes.
