Mr. Whitcomb was born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida to Howard and Betty Whitcomb.

He was a veteran of the United States Navy.

He is survived by his wife: Susan Whitcomb, Pompano Beach, Florida, his mother: Betty Whitcomb Gerecitero, Gainesville, Georgia, his brother: Howard Whitcomb, Kailua Kona, Hawaii, and an uncle: Marvie Kirchoff, Tampa, Florida.
