David F. Burke passed away peacefully in his home Friday. He was 95.
After his contribution to a technical aircraft defense project during WWII, Mr. Burke worked for International Business Machines as an Executive Sales Director in New York, retiring in 1973. He was a long-time volunteer for S.C.O.R.E. in Wolfeboro, NH and Lexington, KY, and was commissioned to create case management software nationwide distribution by Washington, DC.
A resident of Fort Lauderdale since the passing of his wife, Juanita after 52 years of marriage, he is survived by his son, Philip Burke of Bethel, CT, daughter Janice Burke of Glenwood Springs, CO, son Dennis Burke of Fort Lauderdale, FL, six grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
The family will hold a private memorial service later this Spring, and ask that charitable contributions be made to Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Research in lieu of flowers.
He will be dearly missed.
