Delone Tipton Stone

Delone Tipton Stone, 94, passed away on July 22, 2022, in Fort Lauderdale, FL.  Delone was born on January 7, 1928, in Mount Hermon, LA. She moved with her family to Fort Lauderdale as a teenager, and graduated from Fort Lauderdale High School in 1945. After her two children entered elementary school, she helped her husband support the family with a successful home beauty shop, and later had a career with the Broward County Probate Court.

She loved painting watercolors, walking the shoreline of Fort Lauderdale beach, and photographing the untamed aspects of nature  – – the ocean, wild birds, squirrels, lizards, and especially her somewhat untamed kitty Pecious.  She impressed her friends and family with her sharp mind and her ability to personally create, modify, and manage her own Instagram account until shortly before her death, posting to almost 6000 followers.  It gave her great pleasure to interact with others who shared her passions, and who also enjoyed the weekly “Life After Ninety” activity updates of this feisty little lady. She was a strong life force and an inspiration to those who knew her!

She is survived by her two children, her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and a sister, nephew and grand niece. 

It was her request that no services be held.
