Dorothy J. (Chesnut) Holmes

Dorothy (Dottie) J. Holmes died on September 25, 2016 at the Hospice unit of North Broward Medical Center at the age of 97.

She was born on March 13, 1919 in Brooklyn, NY, moving to Florida in 1955. She retired after a long career with the State of Florida Insurance Commissioners Office, at the same time raising 3 sons. She is predeceased by her husband Fred.

She is survived by her 2 sons Frederick and Jeffrey, 3 grandchildren and one great granddaughter. Middle son Randall is deceased.

During the last several years "Dottie" was being cared for by her 3rd son Jeffrey while under Hospice care in her original home she occupied since 1955. Although at times it was a daunting task, I (Jeffrey) was glad I could be with her till the end. She will be missed by everyone who knew her.
