Harry Albert Kisch, age 70, of Wilton Manors, FL, passed away on Wednesday, November 6, 2013. Born in Poughkeepsie, NY in 1943 to Charles Kisch and Ida Mae Brown. Harry served in the US Navy during 1961-1967. After the Navy, he joined his father in West Palm Beach, FL.Harry met Rebecca "Beckie" Leasor, at a Boy Scout function. On June 16, 1967 Harry and Beckie were married. They were blessed with two daughters, and two grandchildren. They moved to Wilton Manors, FL in 1969, and continued the scouting legacy, being Boy Scout and Girl Scout leaders for over 15 years. Harry was proud to be a registered Girl Scout, took pride in being a role model, and was a fun loving father figure to many. Not only was he an excellent father to his own daughters; but was often thought of as a second father to all who entered his home.During his lifetime Harry worked in a print shop, owned his own lawn company, became "Harry the Iceman" distributing ice for Reddy Ice, and worked in the mailroom for the Broward County School Board. He retired in 2000.At different times in his life, Harry was active in the Barefoot Mailman Camping Club, The Wilton Manors Kiwanis Club and several Church Ministries. He could often be found preparing dinners in the kitchen; or manning the grill. For several years he enjoyed playing Santa Claus for many children. Harry loved to recount stories from his younger years, and was happiest when surrounded by family and friends.In addition to his parents, Harry was preceded in death by his sister, Jean DeLease; and brothers-in-law, Robert DeLease and John Leasor.Harry is survived by his wife, Beckie Kisch; his children, Kathleen Wagner and Kimberly Kisch; son-in-law Fred Wagner; two grandchildren, Aimee and Joey Wagner; three nieces, a nephew, their spouses, children, grandchildren; many, many close friends and his beloved dog Heidi.The family will receive friends to honor Harry's life at a memorial service on Saturday, November 16th at 1:00 p.m.Our Savior Lutheran Church, 8001 Northwest 5th Street, Plantation, FL (Corner of 5th and University)
