James Anthony Batton

James Anthony Batton, age 82, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 24, 2022 at 7:23 p.m. surrounded by family at his beloved home in Broward County, Florida. 

 

He is survived by his devoted and loving wife, Pallie J. Batton of almost 60 years of marriage. Along with his two children Lisa Martinez and Larry Batton and daughter-in-law Ailen Batton. He was blessed with six grandchildren as follows.. Kristin Martinez, Nicki Martinez, Tyler Martinez, Kyle Batton, Kevin Batton, and Kailen Batton.

 

James also affectionately known as: Jimmy, Jim and Papa; was born in Miami, Florida and was one of four children. He was raised in Hialeah, Florida and resided there until their dream home was built in 1995 in Broward County where he lived for the remainder of his life. He took pride in his home and loved up-keeping the outside; he would spend hours and hours doing yard-work. He was very meticulous and his adoration for his home showed for itself by how beautiful it looked at all times.

 

He worked at Airwork and then Turbo Power as an aircraft mechanic for over 40 years, even working up to the age of 75. 

 

He is remembered by all as a wonderful role model of a man, devoted to his wife and family. Strong and stubborn at times, but a true heart of gold and we loved him for exactly who he was. To know him was to love him! We all loved him more than words can express and he will be so very greatly missed by all. 

 

To his wishes, there will be no funeral service. He wished for all of us to celebrate life rather than sorrow so we decided to have this video made to celebrate his wonderful life. We know he is with us in spirit, celebrating life alongside us. We thank you all for your understanding and feel free to share your favorite memories of him in the comments below.
