Jolanda Simmons Obituary

Jolanda (Jolie) Simmons, 56, has joined her Mother Patricia in heavens choir this past Sunday, 03/24/2024 at approximately 4 AM after a long battle with many illnesses.

She was survived by many loved ones starting with her Father Raul Quinones, Her Siblings : Oldest Brother Paul and his wife Pam who was also a close friend, Sister Linda and Husband Jose who uplifted her spirits daily, Sister Gloria who shared a bond close as twins and Baby Sister Brenda who was her early AM phone calls full of laughter, lessons and love.

Followed by her adult children eldest Duane Edward Jr the one who made her a mother and helped her learn to trust herself, her middle child Tamieka who made her laugh till she cried and was her personal radio, then the youngest Christal Simmons who often brought her peace with their bond over shared faith, devotionals, movies and the latest funny video shared.

Those children gave her 4 grandbabies, Jacob the 1st born, Grandma's sweet boy who melted her heart with every hug. Elizabeth whom she was blessed to raise almost as another Daughter, the memories made in those years are too many to share, Taylor and Olivia the 2 youngest who made grammas heart soar with happiness anytime they were near.

There is a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, family friends and friends who were like family ... So many to name that we would run out of characters...You all know who you are, the impact you had on her life and the one she had on yours.

Please celebrate life, continue to grow in love, allow laughter to be the sound that reaches the heavens so that she may finally be able to dance to the joy of our voices.
