Lawrence Pierce Puckett, Jr.

Lawrence “Larry” Puckett, age 93, died February 6, 2021 in Miami, Florida as a result of COVID-19 and long term Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease..  He was born June 25, 1927 in Dade City, Florida and spent the majority of his childhood both there and in Richmond, Virginia. He was a World War II veteran and served as a corporal in the United States Marine Corps stationed in China.

He is survived by his loving wife Sandra Puckett of 46 years. He is also survived by his daughter Pandora Puckett Crippen, his son Lloyd Jefferson Puckett and his step-children, Philip Bruce Whitebook, Beth Lauren Decespedes and Yale David Whitebook. He is survived by his grand-children and great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by his first wife Lavernon Hackney Dixon Puckett; his daughters Terry Lynn Dixon Puckett Kroner Breig, Jeanne-Marie Puckett Marquardt, and Rossie Elizabeth Puckett, and his step-son Marc Robert Whitebook.

After WWII he attended Tulane University and spent the rest of his life in Miami, Florida.  Larry was a well-known carpenter and builder in Miami from the 1950’s to the 1990’s. He was the president of Prestressed Systems Incorporated (PSI) a concrete joist corporation. His company built many parking garages, condominiums, airport terminals, and office buildings including the One Biscayne Tower which was the tallest building in Miami at the time.  He held patents on building construction products. During his life he was an airplane pilot, helicopter pilot, orange grove owner and avid golfer.

Per his request there will be no services.
