Lydia (Lee) Cedre, 80, of greater Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, passed away on February 9, 2021, at home after a short illness.
Lee was born in the Bronx, NY and was the only child of the late Irma and Joseph Cedre. Lee was retired from a pharmaceutical company as a safety engineer.
Lydia (Lee) is survived by her first cousins Sandy Siegel, Tom, Bob and Rich Molina and Petra Munoz of New York and cousins Jimmy and Glenn Gelebert, Angela Glover and Bonnie Okies of El Paso, Texas; Denise Hargett of New York and Will Hargett of New Jersey. Lee also leaves behind her housemate and dear friend Mary Huddy and her beloved schnauzer, Casey.
Lee lived life to the fullest. She was fiercely independent and a devoted friend to many and will be remembered by them as a generous, kind and loving person. Lee lived and left us on her terms but all too soon for those who loved her. Her greatest enjoyment were her travels to parts of the U.S. and Europe and cruises to the Caribbean Islands. At 70 years of age Lee went zip-lining during one of her trips to the islands. An avid bowler, Lee played on a number of senior leagues and said she "was the youngest in the leagues." She was an extreme aficionado of pro basketball, rooting especially for the Miami Heat . She could tell you all the stats on any player without blinking an eye. Lee also looked forward and loved visiting with her cousins in various parts of the country but complained about the cold weather in New York.
Lee's wish was to be cremated. A celebration of her life will follow in the near future.
