Nicole Hatch Obituary

Nicole Legh Hatch, known to friends and family as Nikki, passed away on Sunday, June 7, 2015 following a brave and lengthy battle with cancer. Born in Jacksonville, FL, Nicole was the second of Robert and Peggy Hatch’s four children. She was born on February 22, 1953 and was a graduate of Bishop Kenny High School, Jacksonville University, and Palmer College of Chiropractic. Nicole resided in Pompano Beach, FL.

Nicole was a talented and caring chiropractor who began her career at her private practice in Jacksonville, The Hatch Chiropractic Clinic. In the 1990s, Nicole accepted a clinical faculty position at Los Angeles Chiropractic College and completed her career as the Director of the Physiotherapy Unit at Saad Specialist Hospital in Al-Khobar, Saudi Arabia.

Nicole was passionate about many things. She loved to travel and visited numerous countries across several continents including Africa, Asia, Europe, and Central America. In recent years, she enjoyed taking cruises with friends to the Caribbean. Nicole also loved the arts, especially dance. Throughout her life, she attended many performances, volunteered her services as the Company Chiropractor for the Florida Ballet at Jacksonville, and recently became an avid fan of Miami City Ballet. Additionally, Nicole was a dedicated and constant advocate for LGBT rights.

Family and friendships were central to Nicole’s life. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Peggy Hatch, and is survived by two brothers, Bob and Greg (Peggy); one sister, Penny (Randy Egsegian); two nephews, Steven and Alex Hatch; two nieces, Sarah and Kate Hatch; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. A strong and resilient spirit with a loving, humorous, and unique personality, Nicole was and continues to be deeply loved, admired, and appreciated by her family and many friends.

Nicole’s life will be celebrated with two Memorial Services. The first will be held on July 7th at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of the Resurrection at St. Martin’s Episcopal Church, 140 SE 28th Avenue, Pompano Beach, FL  33062. The second Memorial Service will take place on July 11th at noon at the Unity Church, 634 Lomax St, Jacksonville, FL 32204. Nicole’s family will host a luncheon following both services.
