Nikolai Trifonov

Nikolai Trifonov, 64, of Miami, Florida passed away May 7, 2014 with his family by his side.

He was born to the late Trifon Trifonov and Tsvetana Trifonova, December 19, 1949 in Sofia, Bulgaria. Nikolai left Bulgaria in 1975 and moved to Los Angeles, California where he obtained a Master’s Degree in Computer Science. His only child was his son, Nikolai Alfred Trifonov, who was born in Los Angeles, California in 1980. Over the years, he lived in Phoenix, Arizona, Chicago, Illinois, New Orleans, Louisiana, and Dallas, Texas before moving to Miami, Florida where he spent the last years of his life.

Nikolai was a Computer Programmer/Consultant until he retired in 2008. He loved reading books on History and Politics, playing Chess, and was passionate about sports, with soccer being his favorite. He enjoyed spending time with his dearest friends and meeting new people. He was never too shy to share one of his numerous personal stories over a drink or two. Nikolai brought laughter and love to each person who knew him and at times was a mentor to anyone seeking advice.

He is survived by his son Nikolai Alfred Trifonov and his son's fiancée Lisa Jane Conrey. He is also survived by his sister Elena, and his niece Nadejda and two nephews, Boncho and Trifon. 

A private memorial service in honor of his life will be held at an undisclosed location in South Florida on May 31, 2014. His final resting place will be in Sofia, Bulgaria where he will be reunited with his late parents and grandparents.
