Rafael M. "Tato" Toro

Rafael M. "Tato" Toro, a cherished patriarch of the Toro-Velez clan, passed away peacefully on April 11,
2024, at the age of 100 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Born on September 8, 1923, in San Sebastián, Puerto
Rico, Tato lived a century of unwavering love and dedication to his family.

A loving husband, Tato was predeceased by his wife, Virginia Toro, with whom he shared a beautiful and
enduring partnership of 72 years. Together, they built a foundation of love and respect that extended to
everyone they encountered. Their home, a lighthouse to family and friends alike, was always a
welcoming haven, filled with hospitality and the aroma of delicious meals.

Tato's legacy is lovingly carried on by his devoted children, Haydee and Hiram Toro. His teachings and
memories will forever be etched in the minds of his adoring grandchildren, Gabriel and Daniel Toro, as
well as Barbara and Gabriel Vidal, whom he took into the family with the same love and care as if they
were his own. His great-granddaughter, Natalia, Barbara's daughter, brought him immense joy and pride
in his later years.

Tato's remarkable century of life witnessed incredible changes in the world, yet he remained a constant
source of love and stability for his family. His stories of the past were not just recollections but lessons in
resilience and hope. He was a living example of how to lead a life filled with purpose, grace, and
gratitude.

As we bid farewell to Rafael M. "Tato" Toro, we celebrate a life of sharing love. That love will continue to
guide and inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him. Tato's memory will be honored and
remembered by those whom he touched throughout his life. His was a life that exemplified the beauty
of simplicity, the strength of character, and the power of love.

We will be celebrating his life in a memorial service on Saturday May 4, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Sunset Presbyterian Church
in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Rafael M. “Tato” Toro, patriarca querido del clan Toro-Velez ha ido a morar con el Señor. Su deceso fue
el 11 de abril de 2024 a la edad de 100 años en Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Nacido el 8 de septiembre de
1923 en San Sebastián, Puerto Rico, Tato vivió un siglo de intenso amor y dedicación a su familia.
Tato fue el amado esposo de su querida Virginia, ya fallecida, con quien compartió una hermosa y
duradera relación de 72 años. Juntos construyeron una base de amor y respeto que se extendía a todos
los que conocían. Su hogar, un faro para familia y amistades, fue siempre un lugar acogedor lleno de
hospitalidad y el aroma de comida deliciosa.

El legado de Tato seguirá vivo en sus hijos, Haydee e Hiram Toro. Sus enseñanzas y memorias estarán
por siempre en la mente de sus nietos, Gabriel y Daniel Toro, como también de Bárbara y Gabriel Vidal
quienes fueron acogidos en la familia y amados como si fueran suyos. Su bisnieta, Natalia, hija de
Bárbara, fue motivo de inmensa alegría y orgullo en sus últimos años.
Durante el extraordinario siglo de vida de Tato surgieron grandes cambios en el mundo. Sin embargo, él
continuó siendo una fuente constante de amor y estabilidad para su familia. Sus historias del pasado
fueron lecciones de resiliencia y esperanza. Tato fue un ejemplo vivo de como llevar una vida llena de
propósito y gratitud

Al despedirnos de Rafael M. “Tato” Toro, celebramos una vida de aprecio a las cosas sencillas, su
fortaleza y el poder del amor. Este amor continuará guiando e inspirando a aquellos que tuvimos la
fortuna de conocerlo.

La memoria de Tato va a ser honrada y recordada por aquellos cuyas vidas fueron
tocadas por él en un servicio religioso el sábado 4 de mayo del 2024 en el Sunset Presbyterian Church en
Fort Lauderdale, Florida a las 2:00 PM.
