Rein Daryl Werner, 69, passed away December 22nd at Broward Health Imperial Point Hospital in Fort Lauderdale, FL. Rein is survived by his wife Theresa LaMotta, daughter Lisa (Dave) Altendorfer of MN, son Denny (Stephanie) Werner of MN, 3 Grandchildren Patrick Altendorfer of MN, Cody & Kayla Werner of FL, brother Richard (Kathy) Werner of MN, sister Maureen Rutledge of TX and twin sister Renee (Jerry) Ponto of MN, many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and dog Mikey. Following Rein's wishes there were no funeral services.
Rein was born in St Paul, MN in 1945 to Reinhold Jr. and Mary (Truitt) Werner. He followed in his father’s footsteps and was a photographer for the school year book. Rein went on to become a “jack of all trades” – trained at Dunwoody and working as a carpenter Rein would seldom turn down the opportunity to help out family, friends or neighbors when they had projects he could assist with.
Rein was previously married in 1967 to Eileen “Lee” (Grinager), the mother of his children and in the mid 1980’s to Leslie (Schmidt).
When Rein retired he moved to Florida to get out of the cold winters in Minnesota. This is where he met and married his wife Theresa. He loved the weather there and would go to the beach 3-4 times a week until he was no longer well enough to do so.
