Reuben Arthur Griffith Jr, of Plantation, FL, passed away on November 24, 2022.
Reuben was born on June 1, 1932 to Reuben Griffith Sr. and Thelma Bailey in Thayer County, Nebraska. Reuben graduated from Carleton High School in Carleton, NE in 1950. Reuben loved sports, and lettered in baseball, football, and track.
After high school, Reuben worked on the farm and the railroad. On May 27, 1952 in Belvedere, Nebraska, Reuben married Judy Lea Brinegar and they had four children: Twila, William, Nancy, and Art. Shortly after the wedding, Reuben joined the US Airforce and began basic training. During Reuben’s career, he honed his technical skills and became skilled in the field of heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration until he retired from St. Francis Hospital in Wichita, KS in 1995.
Reuben was predeceased by his wife Judy, his daughter Nancy, his son William, and his brother Vernon Griffith. Reuben is survived by one daughter Twila Griffith and one son Art Griffith. He has three granddaughters: Hannah Winter, Larissa Griffith-Calls, and Barbara Griffith.
Reuben grew up in Nebraska, and also lived in Idaho, the Philippines, Texas, Kansas, and Florida. Most of his life was spent raising his family and his grandchildren in Wichita, KS until he spent his final time in Florida.
Due to family and friends being spread across the country, no service will be held. His final resting place will be in Nebraska next to his beloved wife Judy.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests any donations be made to the Humane Society.
