On Thursday, November 19, 2020, Robert Joseph Gallego, loving son, brother, uncle and friend, passed away at the age of 62 of natural causes. Robert was born on May 29, 1958 in Los Angeles, California to Roberto G. and Bertha L. Gallego. Robert grew up in West Covina, CA and graduated in 1976 from Nogales High School in La Puente. He was an active Drama Club and Choir member throughout high school. Robert attended Mt. San Antonio College (Mt. SAC) and received his Liberal Arts degree from Cal Poly Pomona. He was also a member of the Newman Club, a Catholic-based fellowship for college students.
Robert worked for Disney Travel in Anaheim, CA for several years before becoming a Training Consultant for Choice Point Services in Irvine, which eventually led to a Senior Trainer position and relocation to Florida. In 2008, Robert moved to Wilton Manors and joined LexisNexis Risk Solutions as a Customer Education Professional and retired from the subsequently acquired company First Advantage as a Senior Customer Education Program Manager for Business Services and Employment Screening.
Robert’s love of travel took him to nearly all 50 United States. He enjoyed literature, all types of music, politics, theoretical debates and had a deep appreciation for learning. His passions included drawing, watercolor painting, art, theatre and singing, and his hobbies ranged from genealogy to astrology and palm reading. Those who had the pleasure of calling Robert their friend knew him to be a kind man and gentle soul who loved to laugh. He believed in sending positivity into the world, cared for all living beings and had a special place in his heart for dogs, especially West Highland White Terriers. Above all, Robert wanted everyone he knew to be happy and feel loved and accepted.
Robert is survived by his mother Bea; brothers Ric, Ron and Randy; niece and goddaughter Jaszmine, whom he treated like his daughter; grandnieces; numerous cousins; and many friends. He will be forever missed but remains always in our hearts and minds. Robert, may you play with your beloved terrier Cooper in heaven until we meet again.
