Ronald Faircloth Obituary

Ronald Marion Faircloth, age 73, from Weston, Florida, was born on April 17, 1948, in Miami, Florida, and passed on April 22, 2021.

As an Army Veteran, Ron faithfully served his country during the Vietnam War. From 1974 to 1980, he continued his service as a police officer for Miami-Dade County and transitioned to Miami-Dade Fire Rescue where he served as a firefighter from 1980 to 2012. Regardless of where he worked, Ron had a knack for developing life-long relationships.

Ron met the love of his life, Karen Romano, from Chicago, to whom he dedicated his life through their 42 years of marriage. For many of those years, they resided together in Weston where they raised and educated their children. Ron had a deep love and compassion for his wife and family and made mention many times that his legacy will live on through his children and grandchildren who were all extremely close to him.

He will always be remembered by his great smile and hearty laugh. The cliché “never met a stranger” aptly described Ron. His sense of humor often led him to look at life through a comical lens – he laughed at himself and got a kick out of others laughing with him.

He was well-versed in many topics, possessed the gift of gab and had a knack for sharing his knowledge unpretentiously. He had mastered many subjects -- from photography to technology, which included a deeper understanding of software programs and building network systems. Later working alongside his wife, Ron tackled Real Estate and performed much of “the heavy lifting” of their business.

Ron shared a deep Christian faith and had expressed many times how he had drawn even closer to the Lord because of his recent trials. He had gained a much deeper grasp and understanding of the unconditional love of God which was why “Amazing Grace” remained a favorite hymn throughout his lifetime. With his God-given gift of gab and Jeremiah 29:11 tucked in his heart, Ron sought opportunities to share with others enduring similar trials of how God had remained faithful to him regardless of his circumstance.

Ron was the loving husband to Karen L. Faircloth, the committed father to Ronald M. Faircloth II (Claudia Perez-Rodriguez), Ryan M. Faircloth (Nicole A. Faircloth), and Gracie A. Bliss-Faircloth, and the caring grandfather to Madison M. Faircloth, Riley M. Faircloth, Reagan A. Faircloth, and Ryder M. Faircloth.

Ron was the devoted son to Viola F. Faircloth and (predeceased by) Otis Eudell Faircloth, brother to Sharon L. Faircloth and Michael A. Faircloth, nephew to Kenneth Rodman (Bonnie Rodman), Lee Steele (Dewey Steele), Shirley Rodman, Sandra Rodman, and the son-in-law to (predeceased by) Lee Romano and Barbara Romano.

Ron was the dedicated brother-in-law to Barbara Liberatore (Joe Liberatore), Larry Romano, (predeceased by) Cheryl Herter (John Herter), Sandy Romano, Lee Romano, Kathy Romano, (predeceased by) Daniel Romano (Sue Romano), Denise Glover (Michael Glover), Doreen Daddono, Anthony Romano (Kathy Romano), Gary Romano, Hillary Moe, and the loving uncle and cousin to many.

The Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, May 4, at 2:00 pm, 2021, at Church by the Glades, 400 Lakeview Drive, Coral Springs, Florida 33071.

His burial will take place on Saturday, May 29 at the National Cemetery of South Florida in Lake Worth, Florida.

*For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. (Jeremiah 29:11)
