Sam Murray Whitford, Jr, 71, of Fort Lauderdale, Florida passed away Monday, December 16, 2013 at Broward Health Imperial Point.
Mr. Whitford was born in Washington, North Carolina to Same and Grace Whitford.
He earned a Master's Degree and spent his career as a teacher in the public schools.
He is survived by his first cousin: Dorothy Barrow, Vanceboro, North Carolina, and good friends and caregivers: Terry Hill and Lawrence Blacke, Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
According to Mr. Whitford's written request, he will be cremated and his cremated remains scatter at sea.
