Samuel Fata, age 80, died Saturday, December 2, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Born January 10, 1937, Bronx NY, he was the son of the late Joseph and Rose (Greco) Fata. He was preceded in death by his brothers Louis and Frederick.
He leaves to cherish his loving memory, Bill Bryan, PhD, his loving partner of 55 years and spouse of 9 years, brother George (Theresa), sisters Sara (Andrew Savarese), Lucille (Robert Vatore), and sister-in-law Mary Ellen (Alan Logan), brother-in-law John (Mary Ann Bryan), and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was an honorably discharged Army Veteran. A graduate of the Bellevue-Mills Schools of Nursing, a Division of the NYU School of Medicine, he was the nursing supervisor at Bellevue Hospital Center, NYC, for critical care and emergency services, for 30 years. Sam and Bill met in the nursing school program in 1962.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 23, 2017 at 12:00 noon at the Sunshine Cathedral, 1480 SW 9th Ave., Fort Lauderdale. Inurnment will follow at the Sunshine Cathedral Columbarium.
