Sara De Yarza Obituary

Sara Isabel De Yarza passed away on January 12, 2026. She is survived by her loving wife, Gabriela Moreno, two children, Melissa Aguero Deyarza Sommerer and Alexander Moreno Deyarza, one grandchild, Liam León Sommerer, her brother and sisters, Carlos De Yarza, Diana Hernandez, Lourdes Gonzalez, Noemi Rodriguez, and Jennifer Fosse, and her stepmother, Maria Elena De Yarza.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Carlos Alberto De Yarza Sr. and Sara Isabel Gonzalez, her stepfather, Luis Gonzalez, and her brother, Luis Gonzalez Jr.
Sara Isabel De Yarza (“Sarai” or "Cuqui"), 53, passed away in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. A devoted family woman, Sara left a mark on all the lives she touched and brought laughter and joy to everyone who met her.

Born on February 7, 1972, in Havana, Cuba, Sara immigrated to Miami, Florida with her parents and eldest brother in 1980. She grew up with a love for music, and her family and friends remained

central and important throughout her life. Playing pool and serving on her JROTC drill team were favorite pastimes with her friends. She graduated from Miami Coral Park Senior High School before earning her technical certification in Dental Technology.

Outside of work, Sara embraced life with a headstrong and powerful attitude. She loved to build and create, to DIY-fix and help others with any projects they had, to talk and lift spirits. She constantly strived to learn new things, often citing that she’d gone to “YouTube University” and would share her discoveries with others with excitement. She loved nothing more than spending time at the beach, or on a pontoon boat catching snook with her loved ones.
Sara was known for her boundless strength and her endless enthusiasm. She loved to sing, to tell people to get it together, and those who spent time with her would always feel loved and cared for. She will be missed by all the lives she touched.

Remarks from her wife, Gabby:
A daughter, a sister, a mother, and my wife. Sara was all of these, and so much more. Though she stepped beyond this world, her story continues in the lives she touched and the love she gave so freely. It lives on in all of us. She made me a better person. Her love remains with me, in every breath, every memory, every heartbeat. This is not goodbye. Until we meet again, I am forever grateful for the life we shared together, my person, my partner, my best friend, my home. She is, and always will be, my favorite part of the story. ALWAYS AND FOREVER, NO MATTER WHAT.
Remarks from her daughter, Melissa:

My mom was my best friend, biggest supporter, and fiercest protector. She didn’t have an easy life, and she strived to make sure that mine was better than what she was dealt. She was always there for me. She worked herself tired to make sure I never wanted. She was always there to answer my call whenever, whatever. I can’t count all of the advice and lessons she taught me, or explain how much she loved and helped me through my entire life, or how broken I am that she’s gone. My mom was special; everyone who met her knew. I will hold all the love she had for me in my heart for the rest of my life.

Remarks from her son, Alexander:
Mama meant the world to me. She was one of the kindest people I had ever met in my life. She was one of the most curious people I had ever seen, always trying to learn new things whenever she could, and inspired me to always try and be the best version of myself I can be.
